Fasting Friends Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy

Bookings

When you book your retreat with Fasting Friends you are agreeing to our terms and conditions set out below.
To ensure your place is secured on one of our retreats, the full amount is required to be paid via bank transfer.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel please let us know as soon as possible. We are unable to provide a refund. If you are unable to attend you are welcome to nominate someone else to attend in your place with no additional cost. We do recommend that you take out travel/holiday insurance when booking to cover any eventuality.

Inappropriate Behaviour and Conduct

Alcohol, smoking and the use of recreational drugs is not permitted at Fasting Friends and guests would be asked to leave and forfeit their stay with no refund.
Any guest that is found to be actively ignoring safety/health guidelines, abusing or misusing of any property or its contents will be asked to leave with immediate effect, and no refund of the retreat or additional treatment costs will be forthcoming.
Guests are free to come and go as they please at the retreat. However, there is often a schedule of activities, workshops and treatments planned during the daytime and evening. Guests who leave Fasting Friends during the day will forfeit these activities as they will not be rescheduled.
Should you leave the retreat early for any reason no refund will be provided.

Unforeseen Circumstances/Adverse Weather Conditions

In the unfortunate event that Fasting Friends is forced to cancel any fasting retreat due to unforeseen circumstances, we will endeavor to give you as much prior notice as possible.
In adverse weather conditions, cancellation will be determined by Fasting Friends based on the local weather and the effects on transport links.
In the case of the above situation occurring, Fasting Friends cannot be held responsible for any expenditure already incurred for travel to or from Fasting Friends retreat. We highly recommend that you take out the appropriate Insurance to cover travel costs in the event of cancellation.
In the event of cancellation by Fasting Friends, you may either transfer your booking to the next suitable date, or we will reimburse the full amount paid.

Breakages and Damage

Any breakages or damage to any fixtures or fittings on the premises will be charged with immediate effect. Damages discovered after check out need to be paid for within two weeks of the attended retreat end date.
Under no circumstances must hair dye, bleach or tanning products be used in the bathrooms or bedrooms.

Medical Disclaimer

Fasting Friends is not a medical facility and is only a guide for your own cleansing process. If you have a medical condition then it's best to consult with your doctor. We will ask you to complete a confidential medical questionnaire before arrival, in which you must be honest about any pre-existing medical conditions.
The fasting experience is about taking responsibility for your own health, and if you are unsure about any of the treatments or services then please do not take part. By agreeing to our terms and conditions you release Fasting Friends from any and all responsibility and liability for injury, loss and damage from our fasting programme or treatments.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accept pregnant women on the fasting retreat.
You must inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions or contraindications at the time of booking. You must also disclose all pre-existing medical conditions and contra-indications on the confidential health questionnaire which will be sent to you after booking your retreat. The booking application form / health questionnaire must be returned within 7 days from receipt.
If you are on any form of medication or if you have a medical condition, you should seek advice from your doctor as to whether a stay with Fasting Friends is suitable. We recommend you ask your doctor to view our website before booking.
With all forms of exercise it is advisable to consult a doctor prior to starting.
You are fully responsible for your own health during your stay with us including participation in any exercise, yoga and/or stretching classes or treatments.
We are not qualified to deal with any mental illness or severe depression. Please contact us prior to booking if you suffer from any mental health issues.
It is the responsibility of the guest to advise a member of the team at Fasting Friends of any changes to their health or ability to exercise during their stay, especially prior to a hike, yoga lesson, stretching session or other form of exercise.
The staff at Fasting Friends can accept no liability for personal injury related to participation in an activity if: your doctor has on health grounds advised you against such exercise or you fail to observe instructions on safety or technique.
Please also note that yoga lessons may involve ‘hands on’ tactile correction and if you are not comfortable with this you must advise the teacher prior to commencing the class. 
We offer no cures - we treat and heal no one. We simply share information, developed by Dr. Otto Buchinger and other leaders in this field, about how a Fasting Diet, hiking schedule, detoxification and a healthy lifestyle can benefit everyone.
The law in the United Kingdom states that only qualified doctors may diagnose, treat and cure any ailment or disease. Fasting Friends aims to inform and educate clients only. Any information given should not in any way be used as a substitute for the advice of a physician or other licensed health care practitioner. 
The educational programme offered at Fasting Friends does not claim to diagnose, treat, prescribe, overcome or cure any disease or ailment. 
Those clients with severe chronic illness must seek advice from a qualified health professional or GP. 
It is beyond the scope of Fasting Friends to provide care or advice for any specific illness, symptom, or condition. 

Instead, the aim of Fasting Friends is to educate you in key aspects of overall health creation, and in particular the concepts of healthful living.
